Academics

IMP students are chosen in their freshman year based partly on a poor academic record. Through twice weekly mandatory one-on-one tutoring sessions our students are able to stay on track and receive help with upcoming assignments. Teacher Liaisons conduct weekly meetings with Dunbar High School teachers to collect missed assignments for students and obtain schedules for upcoming exams and projects. Students' behavior and attendance is also discussed. The teacher meetings allow the Dunbar teachers to connect with the mentors from IMP and share their insight into what the students might need since they interact with them on a daily basis.
