Christina

It’s hard to believe that Christina has ever struggled academically. It only takes one interaction with Christina to realize that she is a bright, insightful, and incredibly mature young lady. A lack of support at home led to chronic absenteeism and kept Christina from realizing her academic potential early in her high school career. Since joining IMP, Christina has found in her tutors a new family that has encouraged her to look towards the possibilities of the future.

Now Christina has excellent attendance, is enrolled in two Advanced Placement classes, and recently performed exceptionally well on the SATs. In addition to school, Christina enjoys trying new types of food and is an avid reader, continuously swapping books with her tutors and teachers. She is looking forward to attending a 4-year college and later returning to her community to encourage other students like herself to pursue their dreams. Christina says, “I think that when I’m successful I’ll be someone they can relate to. I want to let people know that anything is possible in the future if you stop making excuses and work hard.”

Christina finished her senior year with honors and recently began her first semester as a freshman at Frostburg State University. Congratulations Christina!
